WINDOWS and GNU/LINUX

What helps the computer to understand the instructions we give it is a
set of instructions known as the Operating System.
This is discussed in detail in the third chapter. The instructions
to be given to a computer could be different based on the
operating system it has. In this book we introduce two different
operating systems to you-Microsoft Windows and GNU/Linux.
what they are and how to use them are discussed separately.
you can select the required portions from this book depending
on the operating system available in the computers in your school.
At the beginning of the portions related to Windows GNU/Linux,
the icons shown above are given. Where we discuss things that
are common to both operating systems,we have given an icon
showing a globe,as seen above.
